Creating more breeziness in camper
Materials
Magnetic screen door
I wish I had done more research on good screen doors, but we literally just stumbled across a magnetic screen door in clearance aisle at dollar general and bought one. Looking back, the installation takes some time, so I would have invested in a quality door. @Laura.c.Burt recommended a small sized door that I will likely buy next.
Velcro double sided stickies
Black works best with black screen door and black door frame.
Scissors
Process
1. I lay the screen door against the camper door, holding it in place with masking tape
2. I started cutting the screen door to match the door frame.
3. I attached one side of Velcro stickies to the black foam lining the camper door, and the other side to the screen material.
Result
- Definitely keeps the bugs out, and I’ve been surprised at how much brighter and airier the camper feels.
- The screen does constantly detaches from the Velcro stickies, although the stickies have hung on to the foam door frame. I would figure out a different way to attach the screen door next time, potentially using heat to weld the screen better. Not sure yet.
- I am guessing probably in next two years I will have to replace the screen door, and will purchase a higher quality material next time.
